You Got Something to Vote For!

This morning I woke up before sunrise to get to the voting poll before the long lines began. I was the tenth person in line out of like fifteen. In my particular district, the line at my poll won’t get any longer at anytime today. That’s sad! For some reason, I had some kind of hope that there would be a line wrapped around my building being that I live in a predominately Black neighborhood with a Black President up for re-election. District 2 of Spalding County just didn’t vote Black, they hardly voted at all!

Barack Obama, galyn is awesome, galyn fergerson, election day, election 2012, vote

I just want to speak for second to the 2 people in the swing states that read my blog, the young people under 25, and the undecided voters. Vote for Barack Obama! Yesterday was a nonpartisan post. Today is a Vote for President Obama post! If you are in Georgia, vote “No” for public charter schools. Swallow your pride. Vote the issues not race and money. Forget about how your neighbors, boss, church members, and co-workers will look at you. Do the right thing. It is not about politics. It is about the people.

Kudos to Governor Christie who stood by Mitt Romney during the campaign, but did the right thing when it came to the people. He worked along side President Obama to help his state after Hurricane Sandy. He praised President Obama for doing his job. Most importantly, when asked if Mitt were coming to New Jersey for any “storm events” (dude really said that!), Governor Christie told Fox News that “I got 2.4 million people out of power…, if you think I give a damn about Presidential politics then you don’t know me.” You go boy!

For the rest of you who have the pride of your country, the concern of issues affecting your community, and the respect of your ancestors who were abused, fired, arrested, and killed for your right to vote, get off your cell phone, iPad, notebook, desktop, and your butt and vote!
